Adam Grim has a pretty impressive collection of photos from all over, but the ones that grabbed my attention are a few shots of different waterfalls in Wisconsin.

The State of Kerala is located on the southwestern coast of India, and is referred to as “God’s own country”.

SmugMug subscriber Andrew traveled through Kerala in Feb 2004, and posted his photos in this gallery.

A sample of the beauty of Kerala:

It's a Black and White World

January 15, 2006 1 comment

Would you like to be able go from this

to this

or this

like a pro?

There are a million ways to go about it. You can take the time, read some books, you can get some photoshop actions or filters, or you can learn the basics in ten or fifteen minutes. My recommendation is to do the latter, and experiment, create. Learn the basic components of good B&W. Then, either create your own recipe, or use an action.

You can find my Black and White Conversion Tutorial over on Dgrin’s SmugMug site.

Andy Williams is our House Pro, and he also happens to be one of the best photographers I have ever seen. But don’t take my (biased) word for it, check out this gallery.

(as always, click the image to see that particular image in the gallery)

I stumbled across these gorgeous nature shots and thought I would share. They come from the galleries of Erich Hernandez-Baquero and apparently come from East Boulder Community Park.

Enjoy!

BASE jumping

January 10, 2006 15 comments

Ummm…. wow. So I have been rather captivated by the idea of base jumping. I have gone skydiving, and bungee jumped off of the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland (the same one James Bond jumped off of). But that is just so unbelievably sissy compared to someone BASE jumping off of anything… especially Angel Falls in Venezuela (the highest free-falling waterfall in the world).

These insane (and gorgeous) photos brought to you by FlyingHarp.

kilt jumping

I guess we know what is under that kilt…..
