Contact the Pro
When customers click the Contact link while admiring your photos, they usually have questions like, “Can you shoot our wedding in July?”
Entering your contact email will allow those questions to go straight to you.

No worries, support questions from help links will still come to us.
If you have at least one sale, you’ll be prompted to enter a contact email. You can enter a new address in the pros tab of your control panel.
Video Player Love
If you use our video player on Windows, or embedded in a web page, you’ll see new options:

Here’s what’s changed:
- You now have the ability to turn HD on when you go into full-screen mode from the embedded player.
- You now have the ability to stretch the video to fit the player area (default: no stretch).
- We added four owner-configurable parameters: autoplay, hide logo, hide home button, hide share button. Details.
- If the video is deleted so the embedded version can’t play, we now show a “We’re sorry” message.
- When going full-screen, the video is not stretched by default (goodbye, jaggies).
- If you hover the mouse pointer over the controls, they don’t slide away.
- Non-standard video sizes are no longer stretched by default. We play them at their native resolution.
Bug fixes
There were roughly a dozen bug fixes, such as:
- Fixed a bug that prevented you from changing your cart co-brand photo if it had an apostrophe in the filename.
- The Old Faithful uploader popup status window didn’t close in all browsers when the upload completed.
- Cleaned up the Simple Uploader “skipping duplicates” message.
- Gallery comments should not appear in timeline, keyword, or popular photos anymore.
- Be Social failed to post Twitter messages if they contained 68 characters.
- Be Social failed to post on Facebook any letters to the right of an ampersand in the title of a gallery.
- “Your message here” stayed in the tweet if you sent the tweet without entering a message.
- Keywords now more precisely honor password-protected SmugMug sites.
Happy New Year!

looking great!

Looks Great! I like having all the stats in one place!
Appearance and functionality are nice in general. Not sure if it is intended to be fully functional at this point but there are some bugs with changing the time period, as follows:
(1) If you set the start date, in cannot be reset if you make a mistake – looks to be a minor logic error.
(2) I could only get the whole date setting thing to work once or twice on several tries.
Also, was wondering if you could include a section for showing the number of votes for photos as well as views, if this is not already there. If it is, then which is which needs to be clarified.
Re my previous comment – I realized later that one can only set the stats period from a recent date (I think when you updated your database to include more info). That’s fine but you need to either make the calendar only go from that date or if not possible, put a note on about the earliest possible start date.
Power Account: When switching from full screen back to small screen, goes back to a blank (blacked out but still running). Confusing to friends trying to navigate between versions.
Appears to be highly buggy in Firefox. Galleries cannot be selected. I can click the ‘Galleries’ dropdown, but then the mouse highlight flickers rapidly and I cannot point to, expand, or select any gallery to view stats for.
Please, Please fix the Picasa Plug in. Ive been waiting for months!
I have the same problems as Ron with Firefox – everything flickers and its hard to select from the dropdown boxes.
Also I can’t find the “contact the pro” box…..
Man, y’all continue to outdo yourselves. This is freakin’ unbelievable. I LOVE YOU PEOPLE! Keep it up. Don’t stop… ’cause when you stop improving someone will come along an swallow you up. Y’all are on the right track– improving the right stuff. LOVE LOVE LOVE SmugMug!! I’ll be tweeting the crap outta y’all today.
peace, IG
Great improvement guys … keep it up!

(Still waiting for the security bug fix)

Awesome! I’ve been wanting a stats page like this. Thanks!!
Old faithful uploader popup status – THANK You…! I noticed within the last few days that was fixed. That was quite a nuisance. Thanks guys & gals…!
I use Firefox and getting the flilckering too sometimes.
At first I thought my mouse was giving out on me.
you guy’s are the best!
I really wish I could know who is on my site. I wish there was a visitor log in so that they would have to at least tell me who they are. What are the plans for that?
I love the new stats!
Stats love them, far easier to see and view , Thanks guys….
Great improvements on the stats beta. Thank you! My only question/suggestion is to know if the gallery and/or photo views include only those from the public. When I am adding new galleries or updating existing ones in Owner View, are my hits being counted? If so, I’d like to be able to segregate these so I’m seeing a true representation of hits from my only customers and not my own mucking around on the site to get it just the way I want it. Again, many thanks!
Is there anyway to see how many hits we get on our home page?
Sad. I don’t like your new games because of these:
1. Most important: I can not see, which galleries were visited through day in general without clicking and opening each one. Really strange, how you missed it.
2. Gallery Details HTML view really sucks. It gives too fat rows and soon they mix with columns… /Firefox 3.6.3 mac
3. Lost galleries icons (made from gallery photos). Now I have to look at date, then at name to guess what it was about…
4. Galleries are mixed by names. In fact, they should organized be BY DATE. No other way round is logical except naming glleries like songs 01, 02, 03… Which is somewhat crazy.
5. Other smaller flaws like lack of intuitiveness.
Conclusion: The only one good thing you made this time is front-page chart with day-to-day statistics. If I was here for statistics, I would dump you. Nothing personal, but it a real lame backward move.
What I ask. Perform corrections. What you have done is too raw to be out of beta-testing and not suitable for general public.
I too am disappointed in the new stats.. I was dependent on being able to scroll through the galleries to see which ones got hits without having to open each individual gallery.. that is too time consuming when I’m trying to see a trend as to which ones got hits. Then in the individual galleries, scrolling down you should freeze titles so that you know which size was represented by the number in each column, when you get to the bottom its impossible to recall. The rest is just something else to try to find my way around and get to be familiar with but the thing I used most about the stats is gone, so I’m really disappointed. Can you find a way to reinstate that feature?
I an also disappointed in the new stat rollout and now there’s not even an option for the old stats page. I absolutely hate having to open each gallery with no image. I do sports and may have 10+ teams from a tournament all titled by date/tournament name/team name, etc… and your new drop-down method of selecting galleries only shows the very beginning of the gallery title, which in my case is 8 games of the exact same info with no way of determining which team it is without opening each one…bad news for me! I definitely like the old style way better!
I am VERY disappointed with your “extreme makeover” stats page! There is more information for sure, but it is much harder to look at the actual photos themselves! I completely agree with the last two posts. The old stats were far from great, but very best thing for me was to be able to instantly see which pics were viewed, along with the sizes viewed and how many times. I could see the photographs and click on them too.
Now on the “new” stats page there isn’t even a photo to view or click on at all!!! It is unintuitive and confusing, and now takes time, dropdown menus, and multiple clicks just to view a photo at all! Plus now I need to remember what category the gallery is in too! What the heck are you thinking? This is a photo site, and therefore should always provide instant access and viewing of them EVERYWHERE, all the time. I hope you can address this issue soon!
The charts that show the progression up and down over a period of time are helpful. It’s a big loss however to no longer to be able to see all the photos from all galleries that were viewed, and the sizes the photos were viewed at. You now have to go into individual galleries to see that information, and still not see it as conveniently as before. This is much too much work to do what previously was available at a glance. Yuk.
I echo the same criticism of the new format as the earlier comments from April 2 thru 6. There is no way to determine which galleries were viewed unless you go into every gallery one at a time. The new stats would be a great addition to the old stat page, but without seeing which galleries were viewed the new stats are almost useless for me now. A major disappointment if not corrected.
I am seeing the same concern from other users as mine.
I would like to keep the page we had before in stats that show the whole site.
If you want the other new stuff great, but let us keep the old one.
The new ones have great detail, but for quick looks give me the old one.
thanks

Well…. I do feel like I am missing a tool that I relied on quite often. The Stats with an overall view and activity. Time to view stats is should not be too long and having to search individuly is taking too much time. My vote is still trying to discover how to use the changes.
What a mess these stats are! The first stats page tells me I have 28 total hits this month, the same as it has said for days. But when I click on the Total Views tab and it tells me I have 44 hits since April 4, which is only six days ago and of course, well within this month. Check yesterday’s hits under Total Views and I seem to have 22 hits from yesterday, but none from today. OK. If I click on the Popularity tab though, it shows I have 22 hits yesterday, and another 22 hits today. Huh? I thought I didn’t get any hits today. When I click on the Gallery details folder I have the same exact 17 hits yesterday and today in my Film Noir folder, although supposedly I didn’t have any hits today. If there’s any sense to this it’s beyond me. And it’s way too much effort to figure it out.
I have the same issues as Jack in the last post! This is very frustrating, when are you guys going to fix this, it’s been weeks? I get a different number of views depending on where I’m looking, what is going on here? Blah!
Please go back to the “OLD stats” The new info is not user friendly. I agree with the other comments – it was alot quicker and easier to see what photos were being viewed as well as the size and how many hits they received. I love you guys but not a fan of the new stats at all!
Please go back to the “OLD stats” The new info is not user friendly. I agree with all of the other comments – it was easier & faster to see what photos were being viewed as well as the size and how many hits they received. If you want the new stuff great, but let us keep the old one. You should at least let us have a choice. I thought we would be able to choose between the two. Without seeing which galleries were viewed the new stats are almost useless for me now. A major disappointment if not corrected. the thing I used most about the stats is gone, so I’m really disappointed. Can you find a way to reinstate that feature? I HATE THE NEW ONE! PLEASE BRING THE OLD ONE BACK. Thank you
Hi there,
like some of the changes to the stats but like many others here I find that the new stats system is a little slow and not as user friendly.
What I really miss is the ability to see how all the galleries performed per month, and compair them to each other. (A general overview of them all) Or the ability in the new stat system to see the overall performance of a month and then to click on the day with a lot of movement and see which gallery and images created that traffic.
thanks for listening and great work on this wonderful site!!!
The feature I utilized the most in the stats is not avaialbe in the new format. I relied on the ability to view which galleries were most popular by hits and size of images viewed. Please return or maintain that prior functionality to the statistics capability. Thanks.
Guess it’s nice to know how many images are viewed per day, BUT I would like to easily see which photos are being viewed without having to pull up individual galleries one at a time. Please add a toggle option between new & old Stats pages.
Again, I don’t see why you can’t give us an option as to which “stats” to use. I’m not the only one disappointed in the new one! Some are happy & some are not. So why not give us both. I’m sure your engineer knows enough to be able to give us BOTH stats.
To all those who dislike the new stats because you cannot see in a single view what galleries had activity (like the old stats page had), I suggest looking at the Popularity tab.
I can see now that I can get the activity for all galleries by using the Popularity tab. This in effect gives me the ability to see which galleries received hits without having to go through each gallery one at a time. It also has options to view today, yesterday, the last 7 days, or the default of the last 30 days. This works just fine for me and gives me what I thought was no longer available. This may help those of you (like me originally) who were disappointed that this feature was no longer available.
The problem with the Popularity gallery is that it doesn’t tell you the size that the photos were viewed at. You have to go to Gallery Details to see that, and that gallery is very cumbersome to use. I think the discrepancies between galleries I railed about previously have lessened, but the whole system is still not user friendly. It just doesn’t work as easily as the old system, where you could see at a glance charts that showed how many views you got in various galleries AND what sizes those views were, and then easily see the actual photos that were viewed AND the sizes they were viewed at. Certainly we can adapt to this new system, but we we’re still working harder and spending more time than previously to get the same information.
Another thing I miss is the calendar month orientation. We can now see the previous thirty days, but the info is not arranged by April, May, June, and so on. This was a handy way to keep track of changes because we all live by the calendar, and that’s gone now too.
I’m not sure what problem you feel was solved with this “improvement”. frankly, I prefer (greatly prefer) the older format.
A vote from me too for the old stats page, I much preferred being able to see the stats for all my galleries on the one page, the new one obviously has it’s advantages but I’d prefer to have an option to use the old one
cheers
I’m with a lot of the other people on the stats. I want to see WHICH photos have the most hits. Don’t care for the new stats page. I liked the “old style” of stats where I could see which galleries were getting the hits.
