Card Creator, Facebook Login and Digital Download Bug Fixes
Several important bug fixes went out tonight on a wide variety of features:
- We fixed a bug in the card creator that prevented some zoomed or repositioned photos from staying where you dragged them. We were getting some complaints of cards with strange black gaps. Try it now!
- Power and Pro Smuggers with custom domains will notice that Gallery Downloads stay put in the customer’s shopping cart.
- Pros: We also properly hold back hidden images from the zip file when your fans buy All Digital Downloads.
- We strengthened the Facebook login so that it listens to your Facebook permissions and doesn’t try to automatically log you in to SmugMug when it shouldn’t.
- We display the number of times your Quick Share Tweet button was hit and your photo shared. You’ll see it under your photos in your galleries where Quick Sharing is enabled.
Enjoy!

Still have bug where open galleries (original image size) does not display images on Blackberry devices.
Hi Dana, could you send our Support Heroes an email with specific details and links to examples? We’re happy to investigate and troubleshoot for you. help@smugmug.com
Been there, done that. Got a big shrug of the shoulders and the hope that ‘one of the updates will fix that’.
Hi Dana, we feel your pain and appreciate you taking the time to talk to us. I followed up with your ticket and see your report is definitely logged on our to-do list. We haven’t had many other users report this issue but we do have our sights set on it and will fix it as soon as resources become available.
In the meantime, I see that your website is already customized to be very light, airy and simple, so we’d suggest browsing your regular site instead of the mobile version for now.
I was wondering if Smug Mug has any plans to allow members to upload a music file to their galleries so that during the slide show viewing sessions–inspirational or motivational music enhances the viewing experience? Perhaps we, as members, could upload non-copyrighted music e.g., wav or mp3 formatted files? Music Bakery, for example, sells all kinds of amazing music files–thus eliminating any copy right infringement–Perhaps Smug Mug could partner with some stock music sites for its members and improve the slide show options? Thoughts?
Hi Darlamae and thanks for the suggestion! While we don’t currently support music files, we have a few suggestions here on our Wiki page:
http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/How+To+Add+Music
The simplest solution is to get a music player and embed it somewhere on your site, like in the footer. The other option if you want music with a slideshow, is to create a video slideshow, either with your own video editor or using one of our joint services with Animoto or ProShow Web.
Please write our Support Heroes if you get stuck or have any additional questions.
