New Customization Partner: Photography Blogsites

Once upon a time in a galaxy not-so-far away, you just needed a website.

Then blogs were all the rage. And now in this modern era of technology, you have to also consider social tools like Twitter and Facebook. If your business has offshoots, each with its own site and blog, you could have four of more different places to log in and update… and your social media sites, too.

It’s time to pause and start thinking of these as pieces of a single web presence. Your main website should be your hub, not your headache.

The Secret Behind Beautiful, Cohesive Online Presence

Our new friend, Photography Blogsites, offers a new way for you to keep it straight, together with SmugMug. Check this out:

Our new seamless integration lets you sync your SmugMug site with your Photography Blogsite, slurping over your galleries and settings and (best of all) pushing your customization from your Blogsite back to SmugMug instantly, with a click. What better way to unify your unique web presence between your portfolio, proofing galleries and your blog?

They’ve even built in a safety feature that lets you restore your old SmugMug customization if you change your mind.

All in One Site Powered By WordPress

The inspiration for the design of Photography Blogsites stemmed from years of working exclusively with photographers to brand and create custom sites. Their strategy was to make pros’ lives easier, boost SEO and give them the power to manage their own online brand.

Their all-in-one portfolio websites are ready-to-go 30 seconds after you sign up and are powered by WordPress, CSS and HTML. This means that your site looks perfectly beautiful and beautifully perfect across all computers and mobile devices. And it’s easy to customize.

Bonus features: Share and Buy

You know that SmugMug already comes fully-equipped with share features, but if you use your Blogsite as your main portal, don’t worry about losing those tools. Their ‘Blaze’ social media tool lets you quickly share and re-share any gallery via Facebook and Twitter. People following those links view the gallery on a re-sharable page, too. Go viral!

While your fans are browsing, they can buy, too. Simply dig into your Blogsite settings and turn on SmugMug’s Buy links so your fans can add items right to the shopping cart. As usual, our print labs will print and ship the orders and all you have to do is collect your profits.

Special Pricing for SmugMuggers

If you’re thinking about setting this up for your business, you’re in for a treat. They’re offering SmugMuggers special discounted pricing at just $29/month or $299/year. (Regular pricing is $39/month and $399/year) Sign up here!

Or if you never want to worry again, try their Lifetime Deal at $499 which includes full access to all of their themes, hosting, support, maintenance, upgrades and so much more. The price is valid until September 15, 2011 and you’ll get no additional charges, ever. If you want peace of mind, act now because this deal won’t stick around for long.

  1. Sounds like a great idea, though it underscores the importance of multi-currency checkouts. I’m >this close< to dropping my Smugmug account in favour of an Australian site that has a checkout in Australian dollars. The idea of a more "complete" site than what Smugmug can alone support is an enticing one, though.

Anyway, my smug site is: http://insight-visuals.smugmug.com/

  2. This looks awesome, I’ve been struggling to keep facebook, twitter, my blog, and SmugMug all integrated somehow, and still look good on an iPad! Now I’m trying to add Google+ into the mix. This might be just what I’ve been looking for!

My site is http://www.aaronpriestphoto.com and I happily “liked” both facebook pages! Every month you prove that I made a very wise decision to go with SmugMug to host my photos. :-)

    1. Hi Samir,
We are not a theme shop, we host the sites for you, manage upgrades, backup everything daily, etc. Nothing to install or download ever. We have five themes that you can choose from and you can switch instantly at any time. All are very customizable with lots of easy to use color and font options plus Custom CSS to do anything you want with it.

  3. Have been considering Smugmug as my site @ rorydphoto.smugmug.com, and this would be great!

  4. Love what I’m seeing so far! Would love it even more if I knew how integrating it with ShootQ would go (since Nimbus is in the works and offers ShootQ integration, but lacks SmugMug).

  5. I’m just starting out putting my photography skills into my business and this looks like an amazing addition to my social media marketing. I could save so much time! Even if I don’t win the giveaway I think I’m going to have to invest.

  6. Love, love, LOVE Smugmug already, and am falling pretty hard for PhotographyBlogsites too! Fingers crossed to be the big winner of this amazing giveaway!!

My Smugmug Pro link: http://irjaelisa.smugmug.com — it’s a bit on lockdown though to keep my clients happy and their events private :)

  7. I’m a pro photographer and a pro smug user and as rare as it might be still blogless. But I have been seriously thinking of taking the leap and joining the ranks of the blogashpere. I have even started writing future posts to blog. All I need now is a place to launch my debut as a seasoned photographer but a burgeoning blogger. What better way than to win this awesome opportunity! Thank you for this chance :)

Now that was hard typing all the while crossing my fingers!

  8. Thanks for the chance! Recent convert to Smug Mug and totally loving it! Love Photography Blogsites too! Just haven’t bitten the bullet yet to get one!

  9. I have some questions bout how this integrates with SmugMug. Where do I send these questions to?

    1. Hi Mario, you don’t have to use SmugMug to get the benefits of Photography BlogSites. It can operate on its own and you can have a gorgeous portfolio site just using them. However SmugMug plays very well with PBS, so you can host your own entire business website on Smug (with unlimited galleries, one for each client)… and you can instantly have the customizations you’ve set on PBS to carry over to your Smug site.

You can check out all the great things a SmugMug-hosted site will give you from our features page here: http://www.smugmug.com/pro/features/

And if you still have any questions we’re always happy to answer them for you! http://help.smugmug.com

  10. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you make this
website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you?
Plz answer back as I’m looking to construct my own blog and would like to find out where u got this from. thanks

  11. This is a perfect integration for us photographers who own websites. I can’t believe I haven’t read about this, it would have made it easier for me to showcase headshots of my clients in Los Angeles. Thanks for this!
