Browse SmugMug Photos On Your Windows Phone 7

Got a WP7? You’ve got SmugMug!

We’ve just released our new (free!) browsing app that lets you tap and stare at some of the prettiest photos that Smuggers have uploaded.

Find it now on the Windows Phone Marketplace. You can browse the daily and all-time popular images on SmugMug, or sift through the different categories for something specific.

And if you’ve got your own SmugMug account, you can log in by tapping the three dots in the bottom right corner. This way every image you’ve taken on your site is right at your fingertips, ready for showing off.

Hit the camera button to shoot, edit and upload your photos on the go.

Give it a try! We think it’s a breeze to use but, as always, let us know how we did.

Great news. Glad to see you supporting the Windows Phone platform. Have been using hte app for a bit now, and would love to see support for keyword tags. I would like to be able to see them, search, or filter, just like I can online.

Love it, thanks guys! Is there any way to get just a link to a photo for copy/paste?

Hi Jordan, at this time there isn’t a way to do that except by sharing on Facebook/Twitter/Windows Live first. We’ve taken note of this as a feature request for you. Thanks for the feedback!

Working for Nokia, I can say this is an awesome addition to the WP7 platform and to SmugMug! (I am using it with my account) The app is really nicely done and has some great features.

One thing in particular that I LOVE and I wish I could do from the main site (or regular web browser) is view all of the galleries together as a single list. I prefix all of my galleries by date and when I view the entire list of galleries on the device app it just comes out perfectly. Maybe you can add this functionality to the main site?

Some features that would be great to see in the future (and I’m guessing will be easier to developer in Apollo):
    - Auto Upload to SmugMug (from main camera app)
    - Direct integration of SmugMug galleries into the main “Pictures” view
    - Ability to hover+scroll over gallery names (i.e. so that you can see the entire name of a gallery, rather than chopping it off)
    - Ability to save pictures to phone (i.e. tap and hold with pop-up option)
    - Live tile with random gallery pictures
    - Full screen image viewing
    - Slideshow
    - Sharing to other social network sites

    Keep up the good work!

This app looks great and all the better for WP7 users, BUT what about iOS? The situation on iOS is a mess. The iPad app is terrible and has litterally not been updated in years. The iPhone app is non existent and I have to rely on third party apps like Smug Wallet. I find it strange the general lack of direction on iOS.

The Camera Awsome app for iOS is very nice, but entirely different. I just want a simple and straightforward way for me and family to access my site from the iPad and iPhone. Looks like WP7 now has that. Please bring it to the obvious platform that a huge portion of your client base must be using.

Hello RMarch. In the mean time you could use their web app? Its really good.

Hi, we completely hear you. Toni had a good suggestion about using the mobile site when browsing through your iPhone. As for the iPad, we’re hoping to have a completely revamped app soon. Thanks for your patience and (as always) the feedback!

Agreed. I’m surprise that iOS wasn’t made the first priority considering the vast amount of users on these devices. :( Considering that I have almost ALL my photos on smugmug, a native app on iPhone/iPad will be delightful.

Looks like a nice app. Too bad you have to sign up with Microsoft to get it. I’m tired of having to sign up for services that I don’t need or want. Guess I’ll have to pass on this one.
