KISS Loves SmugMug Long Time

We’ve heard that making custom photo albums is a scary deal. Finding a quality company with good designs, managing the clients’ approval and then exporting your album to print makes most photographers hide under the couch. It’s complicated, clunky and just plain no fun.

Ridiculously Simple Custom Photo Albums

KISS has come up with their own integrated solution with their SWAT system. Their automated design process is easy, slurping photos right from your SmugMug galleries. It auto-posts gorgeous slideshows to your Facebook page, your SmugMug gallery, or you can email it or embed it into any website. This way your clients can see and approve the design via the built-in comment system.

Here’s an example of the slideshow. It’s like flipping through the real album, but without the weight:

Once you’ve picked the options and leathers, order the finished album with one click. No exporting or uploading required.

Look here for step by step instructions and see how it’s done, and check out their collection of How-To videos to learn the ropes.

And don’t be shy! Try one of their cheek-rubbingly beautiful albums and start giving your customers what they’ve always wanted: Custom albums delivered fast at a great price.

I have my clients choose their favorites in Smugmug via Events. Can KISS see the favorites in a client’s event? if so it would be the bomb.

Hi Lou, you sure can import your Favorites galleries and turn them into albums, since you can use any gallery on your site. Give it a try!

This whole “Love You Long Time” catch-phrase (or other variants) is a horribly insensitive remark used to poke fun at people of Asian descent. I am shocked that a seemingly progressive company like Smugmug would use this type of language in one of their “official” blog posts. Really poor form, Smugmug :(

Get over yourself Michael. They didn’t mean anything offensive by it. This is fantastic news!

Whether or not they *meant* anything offensive is not the issue. The problem is that the post uses a stereotypical and offensive saying to get some laughs at the expense of a certain ethnic group–in this case, Asians. It is not funny and it’s really quite racist.

Matthew, I think YOU need to “get over” your casual acceptance of discriminatory hate-speech.

Am I interpreting this correctly that only people with full access to my SmugMug account could design books using pictures in one of my albums? Therefore, clients of a particular Smugmug gallery could not design / buy a book of pictures from their gallery with just the link/password for their gallery, correct?

Mike S. This integration is so that you can load your SmugMug gallery into the design tool on the KISS Books site and create an album or have KISS design one for you (you will need an active KISSbooks account in order to do this). This is not an option for consumers but for you the photographer. If you have specific q’s, feel free to email directly as well. adam@gokiss.co Thanks!
