Pros: Now Sell in Currency Near You

It’s here! In conjunction with the launch of our brand-new European print lab, Loxley Colour, we made it possible for Pros to set their prices in 5 different currencies.

This way you get the benefits of this beautiful launch day even if you don’t live in Europe.

Start Now In Your Pricelists

Fire up your Pricelists manager and you’ll see the new currency options when you create new Pricelists and when you edit an existing one:

Any other changes to know about?

In order to fit with these shiny new advances, a couple of our popular Pro commerce features have gotten some tweaks:

  • You can now offer Coupons in each of these 5 currencies, like so.

  • Boutique Packaging now offers the option to require a minimum order before it kicks in. This is a great way to make sure your high-dollar purchases are that much more special. Choose whether it’s based on total order cost or amount of profit, customize the amount, or remove the minimum completely. Find it in your Control Panel under the Pros tab:

What happens with the different currencies when it’s time to get paid?

You’ve been able to get your pro profits paid to you in one of 5 currencies for a while now, but if you haven’t set this up yet you’ll find it in your Control Panel.

Click on the Pros tab, then fill out the Tax and Payment info so that we can pay you.

Got several Pricelists in different currencies? When your client buys prints in mixed currencies, we’ll tally your profits into the currency you’ve selected to get paid in, based on the conversion rate at the time of the order. Capisce?

Will my customers see pricing in the currency I’ve picked?

We’ll do the best we can to figure out where your clients are and display the currency used there. But, remember that they can pick their favorite one from the drop-down list in the catalog and shopping cart.

    1. Another vote for a Canadian lab. Please! That’s actually one of the reasons I have not signed up with SmugMug yet.

  1. Outstanding News to so many connections I have in Europe!
    Great job.

  2. Brill! Any plans to accept UK payment? Or even paypal, it looks like only major credit cards are accepted.

    1. Hi David, were you referring to SmugMug subscription payments? If so, that’s something we’d like to do very much, yes. For print orders we do take the most popular forms of plastic, but we’d love to hear your feedback.

  3. Hi,
I was really talking about the checkout for customers, you only accept major credit cards. This might put some people off? Paypal with their option to use UK maestro would be so much better and allow younger people with no credit card to buy our photos.

  4. Hi again David, we do have a page set up that explains our different payment methods we accept for subscriptions and orders, but you’re right that it isn’t at the checkout stage in our cart. We’ll see about fixing that, thanks!

  5. I would love to have the prices in NOK (Norwegian kroner) also.
I know Norway is a small country, but it would sure make my selling easier! lol.😀

    1. Yes please, get prices in Norwegian kroner and the measurements in centimeters instead of Inches. And get a partnership with a Norwegian lab

  6. Yes please a canadian lab, besides the cost of international shipping, there is the time delay as things go through those international mail services (or lack thereof).

  7. Fantastic, pity it wasn’t in from the start. I’ve never seen any online company struggle with the concept of currencies as much as Smugmug, you lost my business because of this issue and now I’ve moved I won’t come back.

Shame on Smugmug for taking years longer that it should of.

  8. I live in China and am American. PayPal would be nice for subscription payments since I no longer have a US bank account and all of my money is Yuan denominated.
